- If community plugins are disabled, click Turn on community plugins and accept Obsidian’s prompt.
- Click Browse, search for
Engram Vault Sync. - Click Install, then Enable.
Install from the web
Section titled “Install from the web”Prefer to start from the directory listing? Open community.obsidian.md/plugins/engram-vault-sync and click Open in Obsidian. Obsidian launches and drops you on the plugin’s install page — click Install, then Enable.
Verify the install
Section titled “Verify the install”After enabling, open the command palette (Ctrl/Cmd+P) and search for
Engram. You should see commands like Engram: Open Sync Center and
Engram: Sign in. If they show up, the plugin is loaded.
Before you sync — filename constraint
Section titled “Before you sync — filename constraint”Engram normalizes note paths to a portable subset on sync. Characters
that aren’t valid in every filesystem (\ : * ? < > " |) are stripped
from filenames during ingest, so a note named Q3: Plans.md on
desktop arrives on mobile (and the web app) as Q3 Plans.md. If you
rely on plugins that key off exact filename strings, rename
problematic notes before first sync.
Next: First Sync.
